Excerpt from a channeled discussion with our friends in Spirit, September 10, 1998

Note from Chris: In the late 60's and early 70's, I became very connected to the music and energy of The Doors. Even today, I have sitting on my computer monitor a little model of Jim Morrison performing in front of a logo of The Doors name. For whatever reason, the combination of music, personalities, and life-timing made them "my" group. I was working a summer job in Spain in 1971 when the word came that Jim had died. I felt both sadness and liberation when I got the news, and, being in Europe, felt like somehow I had a connection to the event. I was finally able to make a pilgrimage in 1992 to the cemetery of Père Lachaise in Paris, where I visited the grave of Jim Morrison and communed with a younger generation of fans who never had the opportunity to see The Doors perform.

Few people have impacted my life as much as this group of artists, and as I became able to open up more of the consciousness around my own journey, I eventually wanted another perspective about the deeper influence of Jim and The Doors. This excerpt is from a longer discussion where I was exploring many areas of personal curiosity. I have posted it here for anyone who may happen across it, to help fill in the legacy of a great soul who gave a wonderful gift to humanity while making a greater sacrifice than most may ever realize.

I WAS ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THE LATE 60'S AND EARLY 70'S WHO WAS DRAWN TO JIM MORRISON AND THE DOORS. MORRISON HAS BEEN CRITIQUED FROM ALL KINDS OF PERSPECTIVES, AND I WOULD LIKE TO ASK WHAT HIS PART WAS IN THIS EVOLUTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS. HE AND THE MUSIC OF THE DOORS SEEM TO HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANT IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS.

He was one of a number of musicians that were early channels or voices for breaking the paradigms that had grown very crystallized and rigid. It wasn't only the words, but the chords, the structures of music that began to break down patterns of consciousness. Ones who were in proximity to him in concerts felt as if all of those structures were being broken down in them. That is why there was so much fear generated by those in control or dominance. They went to great extremes to try to hold these structures together while he was blasting them apart in all of those who were open to being blasted and disintegrated. So all of the authorities of the time had a great fear and discomfort with this one's music. They could not articulate it, but they felt it and they tried to control him.

The drug use was part of what opened the channels for this one and others in the early stages. That was also what led to his physical decline and his inability to stay in the earth. His own electromagnetic field was so disintegrated that he was not able to maintain integrity any longer. After he left he had a great deal of healing to do and he is still doing some of it. In a sense he had to be completely restructured before he could even re-embody because he had so disintegrated. That was his purpose, to disintegrate, but it also disintegrated matrices of consciousness within him that were necessary for integration and he could no longer do that in his body. He could no longer do it in an astral body. He has had to do major reconstruction on soul/spirit levels, so he has not been available throughout these last years in earth. In some ways his excess, his inability to hold a center and to then go to an extreme cost him dearly, and his soul is yet recovering from that experience.

WELL, I REALLY APPRECIATED HIM. WOULD YOU PLEASE PASS ALONG THANKS FROM ME?

And he has received that and also from others who experienced the beginning of “breaking through to the other side”, in a sense, of opening beyond the crystallization of your parents and that whole consciousness of that which needed to be broken.

Elvis did some of it, the Beatles did some of it, the Rolling Stones did some of it. Each had their aspect or part of breaking through levels of crystallization. For example, Mick Jagger had a much more sexual breaking, more second chakra openings with people in general so that much of the sexual revolution of people feeling freer sexually was part of what he opened. The Beatles were heart, that is why they still have great resonance. They broke open the sense of loving with much more open-hearted, unconditional energies or frequencies rather than the conditioning that most of you were brought up with.

AND WHAT DID MORRISON OPEN?

Power. Third chakra power. That is why the authorities, the powers that be, were so threatened, because of the power aspect that he was breaking open and all of the controls that were around the rules and the way that people had been controlled. So, yes, he used passion and he used different aspects, but it was power that he was cracking open. That was his mission, that is what came through him. You can look at different people and different groups and see what they opened.
